Consent and Confidentiality
Bright Minds Centre aims to handle consent and confidentiality clearly and responsibly throughout enquiry, booking and assessment routes.
Consent
Consent should be meaningful, informed and appropriate to the person and context involved. For children and young people, this may include the role of parents, carers, guardians and Gillick competence considerations where relevant. For supported adults or professional referrals, consent should be clear before information is shared beyond the minimum needed to manage the enquiry.
Confidentiality
Information shared with Bright Minds Centre is treated confidentially and used for service purposes connected to enquiries, bookings, assessment work, administration, safeguarding and legal obligations. Confidentiality may be limited if there is serious risk, a safeguarding concern, or another lawful reason to disclose information.
Communications and sharing
Where information needs to be shared with another professional, provider or contact, the basis for that sharing should be explained wherever possible. General service signposting is not treated as automatic permission to send personal information elsewhere.
